Peter John James, 77, of Elysburg, Northumberland County, died Jan. 26, 2021 , in Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem.
He and his wife, Ann E. (Buehl) James, married May 17, 1969, in St. Joseph’s Church, Ashland.
Born Sept. 21, 1943, in Shamokin, he was the son of the late Peter Francis and Flossie (Fisher) James.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era, from 1964-67.
A truck driver for International Paper Co., Mount Carmel, for 42 years, he retired in 2011.
He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, Ashland.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by sons, Peter John James and his wife, Gina, of Doylestown, Michael R. James of Atlanta, Ga., and the Rev. (Fr.) Richard W. James, S.T.L. of Bally; granddaughters Mary, Katherine and Erin; and siblings Margaret Kabonick, Donna Mascuch and Debra Sienkiewicz.
He was predeceased by a brother Ralph James on Dec. 2, 2020.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Feb. 4 at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine St., Bally.
Family and friends may pay their respects 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the church.
Interment will follow the Mass at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
