Testing new BolaWraps

PRESS PHOTOS BY PAUL FOX Cpl. Antonio Tramonte volunteers during a recent test of North Catasauqua Police Department's new BolaWraps. The laser-guided Kevlar cable can be fired at the legs or arms of a suspect to trip or disarm them. The department recently purchased two of the weapons to add more nonlethal response options.
The BolaWrap can be fired from a distance and is designed to apprehend moving or stationary suspects. The small device is similar in size and shape to a stun gun. North Catasauqua Betterment Committee donated funds to purchase the BolaWrap weapons.
