Northampton Area Public Library: Library to reopen for in-person browsing

Northampton Area Public Library will reopen for in-person browsing Feb. 8. Curbside pickup appointments are still available.

Computers will be available for one 45-minute session per person, per day. Patrons may also utilize our Wi-Fi access point to access the Internet from the library’s grounds or parking lot.

Reminder: “Harry Potter” book week for children ends Feb. 4. Participate in our take-home crafts, activities and a virtual escape room on our website, northamptonapl.org.

Create your own “Star Wars” valentine with our fandom take-home craft. Kits are available for pickup beginning Feb. 8. This program is for teens and adults.

Registration is required to receive supplies and instructions.

Meditation 101 is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 9 virtually on Zoom. Join Alissa Xander to learn more about meditation and how you can create your own meditation habit.

The adult winter reading challenge runs until Feb. 13. Complete the challenges on the winter reading bookmark, return the bookmark to NAPL or email to info@northamptonapl.org and get entered for prizes.

Take storytime fun to your home with our do-it-yourself storytime crafts. “A Splendid Friend Indeed” will launch Feb. 16.

Each storytime has a book and activity sheet with ideas following the five early literacy practices.

There is a limited supply, so activities are on a first-come, first-served basis.

There will be “Schitt’s Creek” trivia event for adults 7 p.m. Feb. 26. Join us virtually via Zoom.

Build your team of Jazzagals from the comfort of your own home, and test your knowledge of the town of Schitt’s Creek.

Craft bags with story suggestions are available for pickup for children in preschool through second grade. A new craft is available every week through February.
