North Catasauqua: Police dept. seeking donations

The North Catasauqua Police Department will be making a special Valentine’s Day visit to patients receiving care at Lehigh Valley Health Network Cancer Center.

Officers are currently collecting new stuffed animals, adults’ and children’s games, books, coloring books and art supplies, sealed candy and Valentine’s Day cards.

Donations can be made 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the lobby of the borough building, 1066 Fourth St., until Feb. 13.

If you cannot donate between these hours, you may call the Lehigh County nonemergency number at 610-437-5252 to arrange for an officer to meet you at the borough building.

These donations will be distributed to patients Feb. 14.

The police department also reminds residents to discard any unwanted or unused medications and prescriptions at the safe medication disposal drop box at the borough building. No questions will be asked and no information is required of anyone discarding medication.

The drop box is open to everyone - 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
