Mary M. Gabovitz, 74, of Northampton, died Jan. 25, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital–Warren campus. She was the wife of James A. Gabovitz for 51 years.

Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late James L. and Dorothy (Oswald) Gallagher.

She was a graduate of Marian Catholic High School and Sacred Heart Nursing School.

She worked for Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg for many years.

She was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and volunteered for various church activities, including the soup kitchen and being a lector.

She was active with the Young at Heart and the Worldwide Marriage Encounter. She was a member of the Catholic Nurses Guild.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Joseph and his wife Janet Tashner and Andrew; four grandchildren, Samuel, Stella, Vanessa and Brooke; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Donald Gallagher; and a sister, Graceanne Janis.
