Edelgard Warwas

Edelgard Warwas, 89, formerly of Allentown and Macungie, died Jan. 30, 2021 in Country Meadows, Hershey. She was the wife of the late Friedrich Joseph Warwas. Born in Kaiserslautern, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Niederauer) Hug.

She was a cashier at the former Laneco in Allentown for 25 years, retiring in 1996. Prior to that, she was a cashier at Acme in Philadelphia, a bank teller at the Bank of Nova Scotia, Canada and worked in her parent’s health food store “Reform Haus Hug” in Speyer,Germany.

She is survived by a son, Erald and his fiancée, Judy Stover, of Hershey; a daughter, Monique and her husband, Peter C. Olsen, of Honey Brook; grandchildren; Tyler Olsen and Eric and Elyse. She was predeceased by brothers, Helmut Hug and Gerhard Hug.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Feb. 5 in the J. S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton streets, Allentown. The family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 5 in the funeral home.
