The Early Childhood Task Force is collecting new and like-new children’s books throughout Northampton Area School District. Donations may be sent in to school through the month of February.

The next Northampton Community College virtual instant decision day is Feb. 8. Sign-ups are ongoing.
Stop in at the Northampton Area High School guidance office or email degrootj@nasdschools.org for a time slot. Students will fill out the application that day and speak with NCC counselors.

Northampton Area Public Library will reopen for in-person browsing Feb. 8. Curbside service is still available.
Upon reopening, computers will be available for use for one 45-minute session per person, per day.
The library is still offering all the great databases it always has for research and recreation.
The library also offers virtual programming every month for children, teens and adults. Don’t miss out on the fun programs offered online.

There will be an NASD Board of Education meeting 6:30 p.m. Feb. 8 in the cafeteria of Northampton Area Middle School, 1617 Laubach Ave.
The public meeting requires a COVID-19 check-in list, hand-sanitizer use, wearing of face masks and social distancing, per CDC guidelines.
The next school board meeting will be Feb. 22.

Lehigh Elementary School continues its virtual storytimes. Join in 7 p.m. each Sunday to listen to a Lehigh Elementary staff member reading a favorite book.
This is a great weekly event for families to enjoy.

NASD kindergarten and first-grade online registration is underway. To register your child online, visit the NASD website, nasdschools.org. Click the 2021-22 Kindergarten Registration link on the left side and follow the directions. When visiting the registration link, you will find all the health requirements and other important information.
For admission to kindergarten, the child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1. For admission to first grade, the child must be 6 years old on or before Sept. 1. Children currently enrolled in kindergarten in NASD do not need to register for first grade.

Reminder for parents/guardians: Be sure to bring photo identification with you every time you visit any of the schools to pick up your child, meet with a staff member or leave the main office for any reason.
NASD does not want to inconvenience you if you arrive without the proper ID.
The school district thanks you for helping keep a safe environment for all students.
Also, for the safety of all students, please make sure to follow all traffic guidelines during arrival and dismissals throughout NASD.
