Cathy’s Creative Catering, 752 Front St., Catasauqua, is on a new mission - to help front-line and essential workers.
On Jan. 27, the business started a project to create specially priced meals for those on the front lines of fighting COVID-19 and other essential workers. This project will be available when anyone requests it. At this point in time, there is no end date.
According to Cathy Bodisch, owner and head chef, and Cheryl Dorschutz, office manager, they started the project after getting the idea from another restaurant.
“Another local restaurant did something similar over the holidays, and we decided to do it now. First responders need our support now more than ever,” Bodisch and Dorschutz said.
Cathy’s Creative Catering has been in business for 33 years.
As of press time, the intensive care unit staff at Lehigh Valley Health Network-Muhlenberg has been served meals from Cathy’s Creative Catering. Employees of the business are hoping to do more.
“We are early in the initiative, so (we have made) only 20 meals so far, but we would love to do more,” Bodisch and Dorschutz said.
Those who have called to schedule a meal delivery want to express thanks to the staff members for taking care of their family members while fighting COVID-19 in the hospital.
After getting in contact with Cathy’s Creative Catering and picking out a meal or meals, the business will deliver the order “with a note from the people who donated or it can be given anonymously,” Bodisch and Dorschutz said.
With a large menu, Cathy’s Creative Catering can provide hot and cold meals and plenty of drink options, including soda, water and sparkling water. One of the meals recently served was pasta with chicken, broccoli and carrots in Alfredo sauce.
“We recommend something that can be easily reheated if it’s a hot meal,” Bodisch and Dorschutz said.
They also added they can work with people who are on a budget but would still like to do something nice for those on the front lines and essential workers.
“We can work with a budget and suggest items that will work well for a group. If you have any special requests, we can accommodate as well,” Bodisch and Dorschutz said.
“We love our community and participate in as many events as we can. Great food is a great way to support and give appreciation,” they added.
