Jannell E. Faust

Jannell E. (Focht) Faust, 89, died Jan. 12, 2021, after several weeks hospitalization for age-related issues. She courageously suffered from osteoarthritis for many years and lately, short-term dementia. She was the wife of Donald S. Faust, MD, of Whitehall, for 67 years. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of John A. Focht, MD and Virginia (Goldsborough) Focht.

She taught elementary school after getting her degree from Wilson College, which helped put her husband through medical school. Afterwards, she was a stay-at-home mom, raising five children, teaching at church and traveling with her husband.

She is survived by her husband; daughters, Deborah Schoen, of Emmaus; Theresa, of Southeast Asia; Donna Mitchell, of Phoenix, N.Y., and a son, Michael, of Myerstown; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Steve, in 2002.
