Harry W. Knecht Jr., 80, of Allentown, died Jan. 18, 2021, at LVHN -Cedar Crest. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Harry W. Knecht Sr. and Anna (Schoenerberger) Knecht. He was the husband of Janet Knecht.
He was a 1959 graduate of Catasauqua High School.
He was in the U.S. Navy.
He was a professional firefighter for the city of Bethlehem, IAFF Local 735, for 35 years until he retired.
He was a member and former elder of Christ U.C.C., Schoenersville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Mark and his wife Deb of Mechanicsburg; two daughters, Christine Hartwell and her husband Kevin of Litchfield, New Hampshire, and Yvonne Vallone and her husband Tom of Steel City; a sister, Shirley Hixson and her husband Joe of Bethlehem; five grandchildren, Tye, Kevin Michael, Kaitlyn, Jake and Anna and step-grandchildren Zachary and Emelina.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Doris, Marilyn, and Carol.
