Salisbury High School names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently enrolled in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.

Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. The members of my family are my dad Christopher, my mom Leann and my older sister Abby.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subjects are anatomy/physiology and chemistry. I enjoy both subjects because they interest me so much and make me want to study.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I am a member of National Honor Society, a 2020 UCA All American Cheerleader, a member of the Dean Scholars Program at Moravian, I won the Collaborative Leadership Award for Salisbury last year and I was named Homecoming Queen this year.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?

A. I have been a Salisbury cheerleader for 11 years; captain my senior year, the co-president and creator of G.I.V.E., a member of SGA, class advisory, National Honor Society and peer mediation. COVID-19 has greatly impacted these activities as my cheer season was cut short, we were unable to attend Pine Forest summer camp and most clubs are having a difficult time adjusting to the circumstances.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My next goal after high school is to attend a four-year college, followed by graduate school for a profession in the medical field.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date has been learning to manage my school work, social life and health with the current crisis we are facing.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered for being a nice person toward everyone and for my efforts to push Salisbury’s community service.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my mom for working hard through this entire pandemic on the front lines because with all of the struggles faced she hasn’t given up.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My advice to peers is to make as many memories as you can because you never know when things are going to change.
