Hanover Township, Lehigh County, Council members held their annual reorganization meeting Jan. 11.
Hanover has a Home Rule Charter, so the staff and administrators are appointed yearly.
At the organization meeting, Bruce Paulus was approved to remain chairman.
He will be joined by Vice Chairman Mike Woolley, Councilman Robert Heimbecker, Councilman Robert Lawlor and Councilman Richard Tocci.
This will be Paulus’ 20th year as chairman of Hanover Township and his 28th year as a member of council. The only with a higher tenure is Solicitor Jackson Eaton.
Melissa Wehr remains township manager. The township clerk is Vicky Roth, and the administrative assistant is Josephine Romano.
Josef Fragnito will serve as the public works maintenance supervisor. Al Kortze, from Keystone Engineering, is the township engineer.
At the first meeting of the year, Wehr set priorities for the year.
“My first is to make zoning changes to make the township more efficient and effective,” she said.
The township, along with other boroughs and townships, had an initial meeting on the River Central Comprehensive Plan. The consortium includes Catasauqua, North Catasauqua, Hanover Township, Northampton and East Allen Township.
