Irene E. (Mehrkam) Kemmerer, 92, of Whitehall, died Jan. 9, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, with her children at her side.

She was the wife of the late Roderick D. Kemmerer.

Born Nov. 19, 1928, in Rockdale, North Whitehall Township, she was the daughter of the late Edwin F. and Elsie P. (Schneck) Mehrkam.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Allentown.

She was strengthened by her belief she would spend eternity with her Savior and loving husband. Her strong faith and opportunity to serve her church gave her great joy.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Her survivors include children Barbara A. Balassaitis (Richard) of Washington Township, N.J., Randall K. Kemmerer (Karen) of Wilmington, N.C., Susan B. Void of Whitehall; sister Loretta M. Miller of Walnutport, Carol A. Peters of New Tripoli; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by a sister, Helen E. Sowell, who died in 1958.
