Earl R. Schlegel, 94, of South Whitehall Township, died Dec. 31, 2020, in Lehigh Center, Macungie.
The loving husband of the late Betty Jane (Horner) Schlegel, who died in 2016, the couple shared 65 years of marriage.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Roy N. and Rosa O. (Abel) Schlegel.
An Army veteran, he proudly serving during World War II.
He was the owner/operator of the former Earl’s Esso Service Station, Allentown.
He also worked for various other auto service stations in the Allentown area.
He was a Master Mason with the Allentown Greenleaf Lodge.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Bruce D. (Jane) of Breinigsville, and Gary E. (Virginia) of Catasauqua; daughters Annette Young (Kenneth) of Coopersburg, Linda Dunn (Shaun) of Catasauqua; sister Elizabeth, wife of the late Martin Landau.
A loving grandfather, he will be deeply missed by Thomas (companion Lindsay) and Kimberly Schlegel, Jennifer and Rebecca Young, Connor and Cole Dunn; step-grandchildren Stephen (Michelle) Levene, and Stephanie Little (Robert); and step-great-grandchildren Crystal, Dakota, Morgan Levene, Kayla and Ashley Little.
