The Lehigh County Board of Commissioners reorganized during a Jan. 4 virtual meeting. District 4 Commissioner Geoff Brace was voted the new chairperson of the nine-person board.
At the previous meeting, Commissioner Amy Zanelli indicated she did not want to retain the chairperson position and recommended Brace to fill the position.
The Press was unable to confirm Zanelli’s future plans.
In a unanimous vote, commissioners elected Brace to the position, which brings with it a $1,000 increase in the $7,000 annual stipend paid to Lehigh County commissioners.
The online Zoom meeting was also attended by Brace’s mother and brother.
District 1 Commissioner Marc Grammes was elected vice chair of the board.
The commissioners then set the meeting schedule for the year.
