Barbara J. (Bean) Samide, 66, died Dec. 31, 2020, in Penn Hospice in Rittenhouse. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas D. Samide, who died June 7, 2020. Born in Orange, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Robert Bean and Jean (Fowler) Bean.

She graduated from Livingston High School and graduated from Bloomsburg University with a master’s in education.

She was an active member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hamburg.

She was the principal of Harry S. Truman Elementary School in Salisbury Township for over 10 years, retiring in 2015. She loved the school and considered it her third child. Prior to being a principal, she was a school teacher at Brandywine Heights and other districts in Pennsylvania.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed crafting, including making clothing for her grandchildren.

She is survived by children, Edward J. and his wife, Angeli of North Wales and Laura A. and her husband, Kevin Tang, of Hoboken, N.J.; grandchildren, Lillian and Grace Tang, Jamella; a sister, Marjorie and her husband, Louis Capasso, of Downingtown.
