Upper Milford Supervisors’ regular meeting scheduled for Jan. 21

As many of you are aware, Julia F. Swan, who wrote this column for more than a decade, ended her tenure with the December 2020 edition of the column.
First, please join me in thanking her for her hard work. Hers are impressive shoes to fill. I hope I am up to the challenge.
Second, please allow me to say hello. I look forward to hearing from you and including your church and community events, meeting schedules, festival notices and other information here.
Let’s jump right in.
Upper Milford Township Supervisors are next scheduled to meet Jan. 21. Meetings start 7 p.m. and are virtual for members of the public; therefore information to connect will be listed on the township website prior to each meeting.
Supervisors reorganized Jan. 4.
Meetings are typically held the first and third Thursday of the month, unless there is a special meeting, such as the reorganization meeting, or a holiday.
All meetings are usually held at the township building, 5671 Chestnut St., Upper Milford Township, for township officials.
A planning commission meeting is scheduled 7:30 p.m. Feb. 1. A workshop is scheduled Jan. 12.
Planning commission meetings are held the first Monday before the first Thursday of the month.
Zoning hearing board meetings are the second Monday of the month. The next is scheduled Jan. 11.
According to the township website, recreation committee meetings for January and February are canceled.
The joint environmental advisory council, which includes representatives from Upper Milford Township and Emmaus borough, will not meet in January.
Meanwhile, according to the Lower Milford Township website, supervisors were to reorganize Jan. 4 and the next meeting is scheduled Jan. 21. Meetings start 6:30 p.m.
A recreation and open space board meeting is scheduled 7 p.m. Jan. 6.
A historical commission meeting and a planning commission meeting are scheduled Jan. 11, according to the township calendar. The planning commission workshop planned for Jan. 18 is canceled.
