To the Editor:
I was very sad to learn about the closing of Valley Primary Eye Care, located on Howertown Road in North Catasauqua.
Dr. David Harakal, who opened the practice several decades ago, spent his life’s work building that practice up. He retired just a few years ago after more than 40 years of serving the community. A new eye doctor took over his practice, but sadly, the practice closed this past October after only a few years under his direction.
I hope that wherever Dr. Harakal is, he is aware that even though the business he tirelessly labored over to become a success is now gone, that his efforts were not in vain. He was an excellent optometrist and served this local community well by providing top-quality eye care. He gave the gift of corrected eyesight to all those who saw him (no pun intended), including myself.
I am sure I speak for all of his former patients when I say, thank you, Dr. Harakal, for providing us the ability to see the beautiful world in front of us. Your time and abilities will not be forgotten.
