John W. Wechsler, 77, of Coplay, died Dec. 26, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Kathryn P. (Signarovitz) Wechsler for 51 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Frank G. and Anna T. (Tameler) Wechsler.

He was a 1961 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School.

He was in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam War veteran.

He retired from FL Smidth, formerly Fuller Company, in 2008.

He was a cantor at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall, for more than 25 years.

He was a member of the Coplay Saengerbund chorus, dart leagues, various bowling leagues and the Boy Scouts of America.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, John A. and his wife Lisa, James and his wife Shannon, Susan and her husband Scott Regalis and Regina and her wife Dana Houck; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Amanda, Scott, Jessica, Nathan and Natalie; three siblings, Anna Marie Schanta, William Wechsler and Catherine Schanta; two sisters-in-law, Rose and Kim Wechsler; eight nieces; six nephews; nine great-nieces; and 13 great-nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Francis and Robert Wechsler.

Services will be private.
