Robert “Terry” T. Galle, 70, of Bethlehem, died December 20, 2020, in his home. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of Jane (Lynch) Galle and the late H. Robert Galle. He was the husband of Jane (Bender) Galle for 52 years.
He was a 1967 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School. He attended Kutztown University and the Catholic University. He earned a master’s degree from Lehigh University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
He was in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a ceremonial announcer for the United States Army Old Guard.
He was an English teacher for the Bethlehem Area School District for 36 years until he retired. He was a home school visitor for the district for 16 years. He worked in radio for Iron Pigs baseball. He was a PIAA referee, and coached numerous sports for the Bethlehem Area School District.
He was a member of Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Bethlehem, where he was a lector.
He was a member of PSEA and NEA. He directed numerous plays for Freedom H. S. He was a member of the Touchstone theater community.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Rob Galle of Cypress, Texas; Jamey Galle of Bethlehem, Rick Galle of Philadelphia and Jesse Galle of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four siblings, Mary Jane Spinner and her husband Ron of Stroudsburg, Christina Martin and her husband Joseph of Bethlehem, Matthew Galle and his wife Patricia of Orefield and Jennifer Israel and her husband Randy of Hellertown; a sister-in-law, Carol Galle of Lehighton; five grandchildren, Jacob, Taylor, Shannon, Willem and Axel; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Timothy Galle; and a grandson, Rowan Galle.
Services will be private.
Contributions may be made to the Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 N. Third St., Philadelphia, PA 19123 in honor of Terry’s son, Jesse Galle.
