Drive-thru Christmas story

PRESS PHOTOS BY SCOTT M. NAGY Three wise men bring gifts for the newborn baby Jesus Dec. 24 during Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church's drive-thru live nativity, “The Christmas Journey,” held in the parking lot of the Whitehall Township church. The idea was to be able to celebrate Christmas with the congregation and spread holiday spirit in a safe manner. Peaceable Kingdom Petting Zoo provided the camel.
Shepherds greet guests while tending their sheep at the first station. The sheep were brought in from a local 4-H Club.
Guests remain in their vehicles to enjoy this socially distant church event.
Vicar Tom Busteed, church pastor, offers prayers and take-home communion kits for visitors.
Visitors drive around the church, 3355 MacArthur Road, for this family-friendly holiday event.
At the end of the trail, Mary and Joseph are seen in the stable with an angel and a shepherd. The event was held rain or shine, and a collection was taken during the event for monetary donations and winter-weather socks to help the church's ministries and community members in need.
