Renee A. Strauss died Dec. 21, 2020, at home. She was the wife of David L. Strauss for 56 years.

She was a daughter of Harry (Hap) and Margaret (Chickie) Walters and grew up in Fullerton.

She graduated from Kutztown with a degree in teaching. She graduated summa cum laude from Cedar Crest College with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1991. She returned to Kutztown and earned a master’s degree in psychology in 1998. She was most recently enrolled in creative nonfiction courses at Cedar Crest College and Lehigh Carbon Community College.

She taught in both the Whitehall-Coplay and Parkland school districts. She and her family owned and operated a business from 1982 until the present.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Steven D. and his wife Tina of Coplay; three grandsons, Christopher with Jessica, Justin and Jared; a great-granddaughter, Aspen; two sisters, Sandra Glass and her husband Ronald of Allentown and Dawn Zygmontas of Waynesboro; three nieces, Kim, Tracey and Jody; and four nephews, Kevin, Mark, Matt and Chad.
