Kathryn Eva Benjamin, 84, died Dec. 22, 2020, at home. She was the wife of Donald E. Benjamin Sr. for 59 years.

Born in Sayre, she was a daughter of Leland and Eleanor Thompson.

She graduated from Wyalusing High School, earned a bachelor’s degree from Mansfield University and a master’s degree from Lehigh University.

She was an elementary school teacher earlier in life. She was the first director of First Day Care Nursery, Catasauqua.

She was treasurer of the former Grace United Methodist Church for 21 years where she participated in church activities.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Josephine Stroud and her husband Mern Stroud; four children, Donald E. Jr. and his wife Chyrl of Charleston, S.C., Alan D. and his wife Anne Marie of South Lyon, Mich., Elizabeth and her husband Daniel Forman of Sinking Spring and Scott C. and his wife Nicole of McDonald; nine grandchildren, Stefanee, Trey, Jacob, Katherine, Daniel, McKayla, Luke, Reagan and Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Elliana and Dakota; nieces; and nephews.

She is predeceased by two brothers, Charles Edward Thompson and John Thompson.

Services will be private.
