Herminio Bonilla, 78, of Bethlehem, died December 21, 2020. Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Marcelina Rivera and Jose Bonilla. He was the husband of Delia (Hernandez) Bonilla.

He will be remembered for his courageous fight during the Covid-19 Pandemic. He was a member of and worked for the Iglesia Esmirna del Señor, El Tabernaculo Church, driving the church bus, working in maintenance, and assisting with fundraisers and yearly trips to Florida with the men’s group.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by nine children, Herminio Bonilla Jr., Maria Hance, Luz Ester Gomez, Luz Elenia Rojas, Carmen Natal, Aileen Altagracia, Eric Cruz, Nicky Cruz and Lilia Ramos; four siblings, Luz Bonilla, Juan Bonilla, Adela Bonilla and Pascual Bonilla; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and the church congregation.

He was predeceased by seven siblings, including a brother, Reverend Thomas Bonilla, founder of Iglesia Esmirna del Señor, El Tabernaculo. Contributions may be made to the Iglesia Smirna del Señor, El Tabernaculo, 1537 E. 6th St., Bethlehem, PA 1801.
