Bear Scout Den Pack 588, New Tripoli, recently collected donations for nursing homes, rehabilitation centers and mental health facilities as those places are not allowing family members to visit during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“These boys really did an awesome job extending kindness for their service project,” said Karin Bowman, Scout volunteer.
The Scouts also made handwritten cards and pictures and Tick-Tack-Toe boards.
They collected and built items for two weeks and then delivered them the next week.
Items were delivered to Parkland Manor, Manor Care West Allen, Salisbury House, as well as others.
“They donated their own items, or went and picked out some items with their parents to bring and donate,” Bowman said. “They painted pictures and wrote letters as well.”
