Marjorie Ann Wenhold
Marjorie Ann Wenhold, 79, died peacefully on Dec. 18, 2020 in her home.
By her side in life and, at the time of her death, was her best friend and husband of 61 years, Robert.
She was surrounded by love from her children Robin (Michael), Denise (Michael) and Christopher.
She is survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren to whom she was known as “Mom Mom”; Alexandra (Michael), Hanna, Rebekah, Chad (Vanessa) and son Jayce, Jackie (Harry) and son Paxton, Marissa, Emilee and Ashlee; and her brother Fred (Willa) of California.
Her mother Marge (Salem), father Clarence (Bud) Young, and brothers, Jackie and Bruce, and many other departed family and friends were at the heavenly gates waiting to welcome her to her new place of peace and comfort.
Born June 28, 1941, in Philadelphia, she moved to the Perkasie area where she grew up and graduated from Pennridge High School.
Soon after graduating, she married her sweetheart Robert (Bob) on Oct. 24, 1959. and moved to Sellersville.
Together, after some years, they migrated up to New Tripoli to experience living on a farm where she spent many happy memories gardening, cooking, canning, sewing and entertaining family and friends.
She could always be found in the kitchen whipping up a delicious meal or baking one of her award-winning apple pies or zucchini bread.
Friends and family could stop by any summer evening for dinner and expect to see a plate full of tomatoes, freshly picked corn and summer vegetables from the garden strewn across the dinner table.
She was one for delicious homemade desserts and could entertain any sweet tooth with her freshly baked cookies, brownies, pies and chocolate cake.
Supporting her family was a big part of her 79 years. She rarely missed an event that her children or grandchildren were involved in.
She could be found at many of their sporting events, football games, singing concerts, sport tournaments and theater productions.
She was and will always be the most faithful cheerleader to her grandchildren on the sidelines.
Over the last few years, her health began to deteriorate, but her faith in God and her love of her family grew stronger.
She was a member of the Eastern Star for many years, taught Sunday School at Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli, and supported her children’s school, Northwestern Lehigh, by volunteering for many events.
After raising her three children, she went back to work and was a lab technician for 13 years at Kraft Foods before retiring in 1997 to help watch her grandchildren.
An excellent seamstress, she created many Halloween costumes, prom dresses, wedding dresses and other outfits for her family over the years.
In 2007, she and her husband moved to Hiram, Ga. Then in March, the couple moved back to Pennsylvania and enjoyed living the rest of her days in Macungie.
Her love for family will never be forgotten. She was the matriarch and the family is forever blessed for her listening ear, caring manner, laugh while making faces at you, and her unselfish way of giving everything for her family.
For those who knew her, their lives will be changed forever.
Her family is honored and grateful to continue her legacy of devotion to God and family as she continues her journey.
