LaRue Jean Wuchter
LaRue Jean Wuchter, 91, formerly of Church Road, Allentown, died peacefully Dec. 15, 2020, in Whitehall Manor, where she has lived since 2016.
Born Oct. 13, 1929, in Sheidys, North Whitehall Township, she was the daughter of the late Allen E. and Mabel M. (Peters) Musselman.
She and her husband, the late Harvey C.L. Wuchter, were married 48 years before his death in 1996.
She was a 1948 graduate of the former South Whitehall High School.
She was employed by numerous garment factories, before retiring from Penn Linen Laundry in 1993.
Active in the life of her church, she was a member of Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church, Orefield, volunteering in numerous areas, including Sunday School teacher’s assistant, bulletins, newsletters, preparing and helping serve food at the craft fairs and funeral dinners.
Her presence will be greatly missed by all her family at the family gatherings, birthdays, cookie baking and vacations at the mountains and the beach.
Her survivors include daughters, Patricia, wife of Ronald Geiger, of Whitehall, and Catherine, wife of Martin Eckert of Slatington; son Kevin Wuchter and his wife, MaryJo, of Slatington; sister Marilyn Dorney (Ralph) of Florida; grandchildren Angela Bell of Allentown, Michelle Brown (Jason) of Nazareth, Travis Eckert (Staci) of Texas, Lindsey Wilson (Mike) of Macungie, Mia, Zoey and Hailey of Slatington; great-grandchildren, Skie, EdJo, Blade, Hanna, Ella, Casey, Carly, Chase, and Finn; great-great grandchildren Starlett, Winter Rose, Storie David; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by grandson, Craig Geiger, in 2007; great-grandson, Easton Eckert in 2014; and siblings Irene Lizun and LeRoy Musselman.
A private funeral service will be held at Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.
There will be no public calling hours. Interment will follow the service at Jordan Lutheran Church Cemetery, Orefield.
