Herbert H. Saylor Jr.

Herbert “Herbie” H. Saylor Jr., 77, of Fullerton, died Dec. 8, 2020. He was the husband of Suzanne “Suzy” H. (Brezina) Saylor for 56 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Herbert H. Sr. and Angela (Jandrisevitz) Saylor.

He was a 1963 graduate of William Allen High School.

He served with the U.S. Army’s First Cavalry during the Vietnam War.

He worked for more than 31 years at the cindering plant, coke works and rail yard of Bethlehem Steel until it closed in 1997.

He was a life member of Fullerton American Legion Post 367 and Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714. He was past president of Darktown Fire Company and was an officer in the Republican Club of Allentown. He volunteered for more than 50 years with Fullerton Fire Company No. 1 and Whitehall Fire Police.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Pamela Rickard with Tom Klocek; two sons, Mark with wife Colleen and Matthew with wife Denise; four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Madalyn, Katie and Colin; a sister, Carol Harris; nieces; nephews; and the extended Brezina family.

He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Teresa; and two brothers, Albert and Robert.

Services will be announced at a later date.

Contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center resident’s activity fund, 1111 East End Blvd., Wilkes-Barre, 18711.
