The year gone by has been like no other and Covid was the reason
We must do our best not to let it dampen our spirits for this Holiday season
Trees will be adorned with ornaments, tinsel and lights
While decorations will line city streets creating such a picturesque sigh
Yes, the Holidays will seem different due to so many restrictions
Staying positive, merry, and bright should be our Christmas-time convictions
A gift welcomed by all would be the often discussed vaccine
And how good would it feel to finally stop thinking about the need to quarantine
Children are concerned, “Will Santa be able to visit this year?” they will ask
You can assure them that he will be there and he’ll be wearing a mask
For many, travel plans may be canceled due to restrictions in place
The disappointment is there, but please try to keep a smile on your face
“..Virtual” get-togethers aren’t the greatest, but they are a means to an end
They are a way to share your Holiday-spirit and love with family and friends
Though it may not be easy, enjoy the Holidays and have some fun
Merry Christmas to all and have a Safe, Healthy, and Happy 2021.
