Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?
A. I am in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.
Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.
A. My parents’ names are Jennifer and Jeffrey and I have a brother named Brian. I have two dogs, Wicket and Rizzo and two cats, Sage and Phoenix.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. My favorite subject this year is U.S. Government and Politics. I enjoy the class because it changes daily with current events and the election.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. At EHS, I have received multiple awards for my success in many years of Spanish classes and maintaining a high GPA. As a result of my academic and extracurricular achievement, I was inducted into National Honor Society last year, along with many of my peers.
Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?
A. During my time at EHS I have been involved in multiple sports, baseball and ice hockey. I have also been involved in activities at school including the Red Cross Club, Economic and Investment Club, Habitat for Humanity, Hornet Ambassadors and Freshman Mentors. COVID-19 has not allowed the Red Cross Club to operate this year due to the club’s large size.
Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?
A. The biggest challenge I have experienced to date is the one we are all experiencing right now: COVID-19. COVID-19 has put many restrictions on sports, which are a major part of my regular life. COVID-19 has also negatively affected my job, which is where I spend much of my time.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. I plan on going to college and then begin a career in the field of law enforcement.
Q. Whom do you admire? Why?
A. I thank and admire police officers who risk their lives every day to protect the people around them, many of which they may never meet.
Q. For what would you like to be remembered?
A. I would like to be remembered for the contributions I have made to help others.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. We’re all in this together. Whether it’s the COVID-19 pandemic, the college search process or the odd school year we are a part of right now, we need to be there for each other.
