Union Lutheran Church offering Christmas joy under the stars

According to the Rev. Gordon A. Camp, Union Lutheran Church, 5500 Route 873, Schnecksville, will be gathering as a community for Christmas Eve to hear the Good News of Christ’s birth, receive Holy Communion and singing “Silent Night” under the stars at three drive-in services.

A family service to celebrate the birth of Christ will be presented at 3 p.m. for those who want to worship early and especially for those who choose not to drive in the darkness of winter.

Then, join along with church vocalists in singing Christmas carols.

Gathering Christmas Eve at 8 p.m. and hear the story of Christ’s birth and celebrate the light of the world.

Join along with the Praise Band in singing some favorite Christmas carols.

The Union Chorale will sing some favorite Christmas carols at the “It’s Almost Christmas Day” service at 11 p.m.

Feel the pure joy of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ at each service, Camp says.

During the singing of “Silent Night,” those who are able to leave their vehicles, while masked can find a safe space to raise glow sticks and sing outside, under the stars.

The pastor says decorate your car and put the kids in their Christmas jammies (Heck, why not wear yours as well!) and bring along a thermos of hot chocolate as we welcome Jesus.
