For the Christmas and New Year holiday break, there will be a noon dismissal Dec. 23 for Sheckler Elementary School students. School will be closed Dec. 24-Jan. 1, 2021.

Students will return Jan. 4, 2021.

Reminder: Sheckler Elementary will begin celebrating the holiday season by allowing dress-up days before winter break. Dress-up days will begin Dec. 18 and continue through Dec. 23.

The contactless curbside meal service for the Catasauqua Area School District has an adjusted schedule. The updated schedule is 9:45-10:45 a.m. Dec. 22 and 29 and Jan. 7, 2021.

After the Jan. 7, 2021, meal, the distribution schedule changes back to 9:45-10:15 a.m. Thursdays only.

Distributions take place out front of Sheckler Elementary.

On each date, there will be five days worth of meals given out.

Participants should arrive with a clean vehicle trunk.

Sheckler is seeking three daily substitute teachers, who are needed immediately. A valid Pennsylvania teaching certification is required.

The schedule will run 7:45 a.m.-3:15 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The positions are for classrooms of kindergarten through grade 4 and expressive art roles, such as music, art and gym.

Compensation is $130 per day.
