Donald R. Shambo Jr., 63, of Northampton, died Dec. 7, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown. He was the husband of
Lesley (Chittick) Shambo for 35 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Donald R. Shambo Sr. and Rose (Karaman) Shambo of Whitehall.
He was a graduate of Whitehall High School and Sacred Heart Hospital Paramedic program.
He was a junior fire fighter for the Whitehall Township Fire Department. He was a paramedic for HealthTec and Central Berks ALS, both in
Berks County; Whitehall Emergency Squad; Medic 3; and Northwestern Ambulance, Lehigh County. He was a Comm Tech with MedEvac from 1990-93
prior to becoming a flight paramedic for LVHN-MedEvac, Lehigh Valley, for over 30 years. He was an instructor at the George E. Moerkirk
Emergency Medicine Institute for the past 20 years. He was a past president of Lehigh County Ambulance Association and of Medic 3, Whitehall.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by two sons, Richard III and his companion Amanda of Northampton and Collin J. and his
wife Courtney of Albrightsville; two brothers, John J. Shambo and his companion Linda of Slatington and Joseph M. Shambo and his wife TerriAnn
of Whitehall; and two nieces.
Friends and family may call from 3 - 5 p.m. and 7 - 8:30 p.m. Dec. 13 in the Schisler Funeral Home Inc., 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, 18067. Follow social distancing guidelines, including the wearing of facial coverings.
Services and Internment will be private.
