Running for local office can be a daunting task. In order to assist local candidates through this complex process, the League of Women Voters of Lehigh County will hold the 10th biennial “Running for Local Office Workshop” 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 30, 2021. This date is before the deadline to circulate petitions, usually in mid-February 2021.
“The speakers and panelists at the workshop worked in a nonpartisan fashion, because they wanted to see more people get involved and run for local office,” Patrick Foose, member, Parkland School District School Board, said after attending the workshop in 2019.
Due to COVID-19, the workshop will be virtual using Zoom; the League is not holding the workshop at a venue as in prior years. However, a similar agenda with speakers and panelists will be followed.
“The LWVLC covered all the bases working with the press and with the political parties, campaign advertising, every aspect of campaigning imaginable. It was well worth it,” Dan Hartzell, Lehigh County Commissioner-at-Large, said after attending the workshop in 2015.
Registration is required. A link to online registration for this virtual workshop is now available on www.lwvlehighcounty.org.
