Running for local office can be a daunting task. In order to assist local candidates through this complex process, the League of Women Voters of Lehigh County is offering a “Running for Local Office Workshop” 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 30, 2021.
This date is before the deadline to circulate petitions, usually in mid-February.
“The speakers and panelists at the workshop worked in a nonpartisan fashion, because they wanted to see more people get involved and run for local office,” said Patrick Foose, Parkland School Board member, after attending the workshop in 2019.
Due to COVID-19, the workshop will be virtual via Zoom.
“The LWVLC covered all the bases working with the press and with the political parties, campaign advertising, every aspect of campaigning imaginable, said Dan Hartzell, Lehigh County commissioner-at-large, after attending the workshop in 2015. “It was well worth it.”
Registration is required.
