Volunteer firefighters from Upper Macungie Station 56, Fogelsville, Trexlertown, Cetronia, Woodlawn, and Tri-Clover fire departments, along with Cetronia Ambulance Corps personnel were dispatched Nov. 3 for a fire at Silliker, Inc. Northeast Laboratory, 6390 Hedgewood Drive, Upper Macungie.
One employee was treated for minor burns by Cetronia Ambulance Corps medics at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
The fire was prevented from spreading throughout the facility by the fire sprinkler system.
Silliker, a division of Mérieux NutriSciences, provides food quality and safety testing in 21 countries around the globe.
