The Lehigh Valley Scholastic Hockey season has been underway for more than a month.
Emmaus entered this week with just one win in its first six games. The Hornets beat Nazareth on November 9, but have lost games to Phillipsburg, Parkland, Northampton and Central Catholic/Bethlehem Catholic.
Through five games, Hunter Engelman and Liam Porreca led the team with eight points each on two goals and six assists. Tyler Adams (4 goals, 2 assists) led the team in goals heading into this week, while Ryan Bonfrancesco (3 goals, 2 assist) was also among the team leaders, according to the team’s statistics on the league’s web site.
Goalie Angelo Greek had 188 saves on 215 shots heading into this week’s action for a save percentage of .874.
Northampton (6-1) and Phillipsburg (4-0) have been the top teams in the LVSHL through the first half of the season. Parkland (5-3) is off to a mediocre start after winning the league in each of the past 12 seasons.
Emmaus will be back on the ice Monday, Dec. 1 against Easton at the Bethlehem Municipal Rink at 6 p.m.
