District Attorney Jim Martin announced Dec. 4 a new member of staff has joined his office.
Matthew W. Tretter is now a detective at the District Attorney’s Lehigh County Drug Task Force. Tretter began his tenure Nov. 30.
Tretter received his Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1991. In 1994, he graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy and joined the Pennsylvania State Police that same year.
He served various positions within the Pennsylvania State Police, serving in both Troop R and Troop N and joined Lehighton’s criminal investigations unit in 2005.
From 2005 through 2012, Tretter worked in Pennsylvania State Police’s Troop N in the vice/narcotics unit. He also served from 2016 through 2020 as the supervisor of the Troop M’s vice/narcotics unit.
In March, Tretter joined the Lehigh County Sheriff’s Office working in the warrants division.
“I am very pleased to welcome Matt to our team and I know he will be a great asset to the drug task force,” Martin said.
