The Rev. Geraldine Elizabeth Schiermeyer, 85, of Macungie, died Dec.4, 2020, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Richard Schiermeyer. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Ellsworth Pearson and Emma (Monnard) Wnek and stepdaughter of the late Andrew Wnek.
She was a graduate of Bound Brook High School in 1953. She received a master’s degree from Drew University School of Divinity in 1983.
She served churches in Oldwick, N. J., Cokesbury, N.J., East Rutherford, N. J. and Pond Eddy, N.Y. She was the Chaplin for New Hope Manor. She most recently provided visitation pastoral care services for members of Asbury United Methodist Church where she was a member.
She was an avid gardener and seamstress. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, the piano, Eagles football and reading.
She is survived by a daughter, Lee Ann and her husband, F. Steven Anderson, of Bel Air, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Julia Z., of Emmaus; a brother, Donald and his wife, Susan Wnek, of Middlesex, N. J.; a sister, Lorraine Robinson of Califon, N. J.; grandchildren, Erik S. and his wife, Melissa Anderson and their children (Cora Lee and Finn Gordan), Kristin L. Anderson, Steven J. and his wife, Stacy Wereley and their children (Thomas James and Charlee Ann), Michael J. and Christopher T. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Kip in 2017.
