Running for local office can be a daunting task. In order to assist local candidates through this complex process, the League of Women Voters of Lehigh County is pleased to announce the 10th biennial Running for Local Office workshop 8:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Jan. 30, 2021.
This date is before the deadline to circulate petitions - usually mid-February.
“The speakers and panelists at the workshop worked in a nonpartisan fashion because they wanted to see more people get involved and run for local office,” said Patrick Foose, member of the Parkland School District school board, regarding the 2019 workshop.
Due to COVID-19, the workshop will be virtual using Zoom. However, a similar agenda with speakers and panelists will be used.
“The LWVLC covered all the bases - working with the press and with the political parties, campaign advertising, every aspect of campaigning imaginable. It was well worth it,” said Dan Hartzell, Lehigh County commissioner-at-large, who attended the 2015 workshop.
Registration is required. A link to online registration for this virtual workshop is now available at lwvlehighcounty.org.
