Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, is trying something new this year for Christmas Eve, according to Vicar Tom Busteed, pastor of the church. A drive-thru live nativity experience is being planned.
“We’re having a family-friendly drive-thru Stations of the Nativity event 3-5 p.m. Dec. 24,” Busteed said.
“At the first station, shepherds greet guests while tending live sheep. At the next station, the three wisemen are shown in transit to pay homage to the newborn king. Guests will then see Joseph and Mary in the stable with baby Jesus as angels dance for joy. At the next station, the pastor will be available to offer take-home communion elements with a simple set of prayers to be used by the family when sharing the sacrament,” Busteed said.
At the event, collections will be taken for monetary donations and winter-weather socks.
