St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is encouraging parishioners to give to The Cookie Sale to Combat World Hunger.

The collection will be Dec. 12 and 13 to help sponsor nutritious meals for families in need.

Donations can be made at TheCookieSale.com. All proceeds go to Cross Catholic Outreach, Cross International and Blessings of Hope.

The deadline to order poinsettias to decorate St. John’s Lutheran Church is Dec. 13.

The flowers will be delivered Dec. 19, in time for the Sunday school Christmas program, scheduled Dec. 20.

The plants will be ordered from Precious Petals.

St. Peter’s is accepting gift cards to places that sell baby items for this year’s giving tree.

Gift cards may be dropped off in the collection basket in an envelope marked “gift card” or in the mail slot at the rectory.

St. Peter’s is collecting food items for Coplay Food Bank.

Containers will be provided in the vestibule. Please make sure the items you are donating are not outdated.

The food bank is in need of spaghetti sauce, spaghetti, rice, fruit cups, cereal, tuna, Spam, peanut butter, jelly, instant potatoes, sugar, flour, salt, noodles, crackers, Jell-O, oatmeal and cooking oil. No canned vegetables are needed at this time.
