Catasauqua Area School District: New COVID-19 cases reported

Catasauqua Area School District Superintendent Robert Spengler sent two notifications Dec. 7 to district families regarding new COVID-19 cases in the district.

One case was reported at Catasauqua High School, and two cases were reported at Sheckler Elementary School.

Spengler reported appropriate quarantines and isolations are in effect, in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Pennsylvania Department of Health guidelines.

Both schools remain open at this time, and administration is closely monitoring the situation.

“To date, health and contact tracing data does not indicate spread occurring within our school buildings, and our mitigation efforts have proven to be successful in creating a safe environment for our students and staff,” Spengler said.

Families should keep children home if they feel sick or have any COVID-19 symptoms.
