Bartholomew “Bart” J. Durkin, 95, formerly of Emmaus, died Dec. 6, 2020, at Lehigh Center, Macungie. He was the husband of the late Teresa R. (Shirko) Durkin, who died in 2014. Born in Newark, N.J., he was the son of the late Bartholomew and Mary Durkin.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was employed as a brewing technologist at Ballantine, Schaefer and Stroh breweries. After retirement, he worked as a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker, Emmaus, for 15 years.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Emmaus.
He is survived by daughters, Dr. Jane and her husband, David Brodhead, of Shavertown, Mary and her husband, Michael Grablick, of Macungie and Anne, of Richmond, Va.; sons, Brian and his wife, Kathleen, of Baltimore and Patrick, of Philadelphia; six grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, James and John and a sister, Mary Wolfram.
