Northampton Fire Department has canceled its annual Santa Run, which was scheduled for Dec. 12, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the station’s Facebook page, however, “Santa did say he will be making an appearance through the borough with the assistance from Northampton Fire Department, so make sure to listen for him Dec. 12!”

Northampton Area Food Bank is requesting donations of the following items, to be distributed for Christmas: turkeys, canned cranberry sauce, corn, green beans, canned sweet potatoes, gravy packets and boxed stuffing.

Donations can be dropped off Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m.-noon, before Dec. 21. The food bank is located at 1601 Canal St.

Roxy Theatre will show “The Polar Express” 7 p.m. Dec. 7-10.

Doors open 6:30 p.m.

A special matinee will be offered 1 p.m. Dec. 9. Doors open 12:50 p.m.

Tickets are limited and required. Admission is a canned good or nonperishable item for the food bank.
