With the number of COVID-19 cases continuing to ramp up, Allen Township Board of Supervisors met Nov. 10 to discuss the format of future meetings.
Township Manager Ilene Eckhart mentioned there will most likely only be two meetings left for the remainder of 2020. The third meeting may not be required if the board votes to adopt the 2021 budget Dec. 8.
After discussion about holding meetings in person for productivity or offering a Zoom option for the public to give input virtually, board members decided to continue meeting virtually, with a possible exception for the reorganization meeting. Some members suggested holding an in-person meeting, just as they had done for the 2021 budget workshop.
“I think, with the way things are going and the numbers are skyrocketing, I think we should stay with [online meetings] until the end of the year and see what it’s like two weeks from now,” Chairman Dale Hassler said.
