Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) has named Atty. Gregg M. Feinberg as the 2020 recipient of the Collegiate Award of Distinction, which is determined each year by the college’s Board of Trustees.

The LCCC Board of Trustees selects the Collegiate Award of Distinction to recognize a person or organization for unique contributions to the community, service and dedication in support of education, and to honor those who have demonstrated their commitment to the college and its students. The award was established in 1991.

Feinberg served as one of the principles of LCCC I.L.P., an Allentown-based limited partnership that entered into a partnership with the college in 2003 to construct a building to house the Technology Center. Through the agreement, the college leased the building for 15 years. It was donated to the LCCC Foundation, and subsequently the college, in December 2018 at a value of $10.7 million.

The public-private partnership provided a first-class facility to LCCC, at a minimal cost to the institution. In addition to the building, the partnership funded a lounge for students and provided three scholarships annually for the 15 years of the partnership.

“This award honors Mr. Feinberg’s generosity and commitment to the students at LCCC,” says Ann L. Thompson, chair of the Board of Trustees.

“The innovative agreement, made in 2003, truly benefited the college with a state-of-the-art technology facility that now houses numerous classrooms, serving students in majors ranging from TV and film to computer science to manufacturing,” Thompson said.

“I am honored and humbled to receive this recognition,” Feinberg said. “The mission of LCCC is critical to further the education of the residents of Lehigh County, and we were pleased to be able to play a small role in improving their educational opportunities.”

Feinberg graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts and from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law in 1983.

After working as a corporate attorney for five years for a local company, he became a sole practitioner and then a partner in the firm of Black, McCarthy, Eidelman and Feinberg.

In 1992, he formed Feinberg Law Office. He is owner of Feinberg Law Office and co-owner of Feinberg Real Estate Advisors, LLC with his wife, Cindy.

Feinberg was principal consultant and project manager for the $22 million development of public spaces on the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. site known as SteelStacks.

He is past chair of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce and serves on its executive committee. He and Cindy are campaign co-chairs for the ArtsQuest capital campaign.
