Burglary
A snowblower, a ladder, an air compressor and a VCR are among items removed from a garage at a residence in the 3900 block of Gehman Road, Lower Macungie Township, sometime in mid-October, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The burglary was reported Oct. 23 and likely occurred approximately one week prior. Items taken included a Fortress compressor, valued at $150, a Little Giant stepladder, valued at $250, a snowblower valued at $600 and a VCR valued at $200.
Hit and run
A vehicle drove through a backyard fence at a residence in the 6500 block of Carmel Drive, Lower Macungie Township, sometime the night of Nov. 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported by the homeowner 9:30 a.m. Nov. 11.
Identity theft
A fraudulent credit card account was opened using the personal information of a resident of the 6800 block of Batman Road, Upper Milford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported 11:25 a.m. Oct. 16.
DUI
Diana Melo, 33, of Lawrence, Mass., was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after she attempted to flee from police near an accident scene at U.S. Route 222 and North Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:03 a.m. Oct. 31, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. In a media release, state police detailed the incident as follows. Troopers were investigating a collision when an SUV came toward the accident scene, traveling the wrong direction in the northbound lane. Troopers stopped the vehicle. During the traffic stop Melo, who was a passenger in the vehicle, allegedly exited the vehicle and got into the driver’s seat of the SUV. Melo allegedly turned on the ignition and put the vehicle in drive in an attempt to leave.
Assault
A 27-year-old male, of Allentown, allegedly struck a 26-year-old person on several occasions, including at least once in the throat prior to their arrival at their place of employment on Congdon Hill Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between Oct. 11 and Oct. 29, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The 26-year-old person showed visible bruises when troopers responded, according to police.
Theft
Fraudulent charges totaling $1,950 were made on the debit card of a resident of the 2300 block of Danfield Way, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The resident reported the theft Oct. 23.
A smartphone and case and $65 cash were removed from an employee’s wallet and purse left in a bathroom at a business in the 8600 block of Congdon Hill Drive, Lower Macungie Township, Oct. 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The phone was valued at $600 and the case was valued at $25.
Harassment
A 37-year-old male, of Northampton, allegedly harassed a 27-year-old person at a convenience store and gas station in the 3300 block of Willow Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 2:32 p.m. Oct. 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelville.
