Northampton Area Public Library reminds students and the community that due to COVID-19, the library is limiting the amount of people in the building to 15 at a time. Services are only to pick out books and utilize the computer, with only three computers available to allow for social distancing. At this time, the library is not offering any tables or areas at which to work.

The library had a Wi-Fi amplifier installed to allow for patrons and students to access the Internet on the library’s grounds and parking lot. This may help those who do not have access to the Internet without utilizing the building.

The library is still offering all the great databases it always has for research and recreation.

Also, the library offers virtual teen programming every month.

CONTRIBUTED PHOTO Borough Elementary students and staff participate in a small-scale veterans program Nov. 9. Staff felt it was important to honor the area's veterans, so they decided to have a car parade for them in the community. Hybrid students made crafts, cards and posters for veterans. A gift bag, which contained small gifts, crafts/cards from students, lunch provided by the schools' food service provider Aramark and other goodies, was also given to each veteran. Staff said the look on veterans' faces, the kind words they shared with them and the warmness the staff, teachers and students felt in their hearts made it all worth it. Many veterans in local assisted living homes were unable to be a part of the parade, so staff delivered gifts directly to them.
