LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Christmas Huts on Main

PRESS PHOTOS BY TAMI QUIGLEY Though temperatures were relatively warm Nov. 13, a jolly Christmas atmosphere framed historic downtown Bethlehem at Christmas Huts on Main, which transformed the area into an authentic German Weihnachtsmarkt, or open-air Christmas market. Moravian stars are hung at the top of huts at this merry event in the Christmas City, where Christmas cottages and additional festive activities are new this year in the Colonial Industrial Quarter.
Shoppers peruse Christmas-themed wooden huts brimming with unique gift ideas and soak up the charming atmosphere. Presented by Downtown Bethlehem Association, the huts are located on Main Street and are open Thursdays through Sundays now through Dec. 27. Hours are 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays.
As night falls in the Christmas City, huts along Main Street are aglow with Moravian stars and lights entwined in Christmas garland.
Angela DelGrosso, owner of Steel City Plant Company, rooted in Bethlehem, shows planters and pots etched with such phrases as “Aloe you to the moon and back,” “Cact-i + cact-u = cactus” and “Crazy plant lady” to Charles-Olivier Godin-Blier, of Nazareth. John DelGrosso stands ready to assist customers.
Customers Mike Fetsurka, of Bethlehem, and Amanda Snyder, of Northampton, make a purchase from Scentsy independent consultant Denise Barreiros, who owns the Easton-based business with husband Pablo Barreiros. Scentsy offers merchandise such as scented wax and warmers and home and body products.
